What was the children's/juvenile fiction book?

I don't remember much as I read it when I was eight [that was six years ago], only that it was historical fiction. There was a thirteen year old girl, and I think in their community, as soon as a girl reached the age of thirteen she got sold.
Her parents sold her to a man at this market; she absolutely did not want to go but had to anyway.
I think the title had something to do with birds, or even included 'bird' in the title. I believe that it had a Quilt on the cover, and it was red.

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks!
Mia - Thanks so much, that's exactly what I was looking for!
(:

"Like many girls her age in India, thirteen–year–old Koly faces her arranged marriage with hope and courage. But Koly's story takes a terrible turn when in the wake of the ceremony, she discovers she's been horribly misled; her life has been sold for a dowry."
